The 2002 team qualified for the semi-finals and ended the competition in 12th place.  Congratulations to Team Maryland for yet another National Championship.  

Tryouts for the Team Oklahoma 2003 will begin in late September.

The Oklahoma All-Star Delegation to the Panasonic Academic Challenge

There are three seniors on our team this year. All six have taken the ACT with an average score of 31. Four have taken the SAT; avg. verbal 760, avg. math 740. Their average NMSQT Index is 212.

Dan Benediktson:

Booker T. Washington class of 2003. Dan has not taken the ACT. His NMSQT Index was 231, SAT Verbal 770 and SAT Math 780.  AP Calculus. 2000 National Spanish Exam, 2nd in state. 2001 National Spanish Exam, 1st in state. Member, State Champion Academic Bowl team. Captain of 3rd place State Science Bowl team. National Merit Qualifier.

Colin Brown:

Edmond Memorial class of 2003. ACT 31. NMSQT Index 203. Colin has not taken the SAT.  AP European History. Life Scout, Boy Scouts of America. Top Individual Score, 2002 Boren Cup XIII. National Honor Society. First Place, Oklahoma High School Scholastic Championship in Geography. Certificate of Outstanding Academic Performance from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Certificate o f Achievement from the Oklahoma Center for Advancement of Science and Technology.

Stephanie Craig:

Edmond Memorial Class of 2002. Plans to attend University of Kansas to major in Russian and economics to become a economist. ACT 31, SAT verbal 730, SAT math 680, NMSQT Index 211. AP European History, AP Psychology, AP US History, AP Chemistry, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics. Deutches Fest Scholar, National Merit Finalist, Rose State Scholar, All-State Academic Team, EMHS All Sport Royalty, Who’s Who Among America’s High School Students, ACE Social Studies Champion and All-Camp Team. Member of the Edmond Memorial Academic Team and the 2001 Oklahoma All-Star Delegation to the Panasonic Academic Challenge.

Matt Drwenski:

Edmond Oklahoma. ACT, 31, NMSQT Index 177. Matt has not taken the SAT.  Northern Oklahoma College Academic Tournament All-Star Player, 2000-2001 and 2001-2002, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Boren Cup XIII 1st place individual scorer. Cameron University Academic Tournament, 1st American History, 2nd World History.

Yuan Ji:

OSSM class of 2002. ACT 32, SAT Verbal 740, SAT Math 800, NMSQT Index 236. AP English Composition. AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, AP Chemistry. Yuan will attend Washington University in St. Louis to major in Mathematics and English to become either a financial advisor or lawyer. United States Achievement Academy English Award, 2001 Cal Tech Alumni Association Signature Award, AP Scholar with Honor, Presidential Scholars semifinalist, Highest American Invitational Mathematics Exam score in Oklahoma, Discover Card Tribute Award, Highest Oklahoma Math League individual score, National Merit Finalist, State Gold Key Award National Scholastic Writing Competition.

Taylor Long:

Edmond Memorial class of 2002. ACT 31, SAT Verbal 800, SAT Math 700, NMSQT Index 217.  AP European History, AP Computer Science A. AP US History, AP Chemistry. National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar, All-American Scholar, Venture Scholar, Eagle Scout, Kiwanis Sophomore of the Year, Gold Medal, National Latin Exam - twice, Edmond Memorial Junior of the month, voted most likely to succeed. Taylor plans to attend New York University to major in humanities.
